In the past, parades were a big feature of village life. It seems there was always an excuse for a parade. Thanks to a relative of this young lady, we now know that her name was Pansy Brittan and that she won first prize in the best decorated bicycle category at the “Peace Celebration” parade. We assume this was to celebrate the end of the WW1 so the picture would be 1918 or 1919. What an amazing festoon of flags and ribbons but it might have been pretty tricky to ride!
