Well, of course, this month has to be a coronation picture. There are a number to choose from over the years but this is the most spectacular – a parade for the Coronation of George V on June 22nd 1911. The children are dressed in the costumes of the four nations – England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. We had a lovely note from Robyn Webber (nee Smith) who said: “My grandfather Ernest Ronald Smith is driving the cart and my grandmother Hilda Maria Waites is standing by his side. The cart is owned by John Milton Smith his father”. And I am sure there was a big tea to follow!
