In June we saw the nation get together to celebrate the Queen’s 70th Anniversary. You can imagine there were also great celebrations in Willingham for the Coronation itself in 1952. There was a parade and an exhibition in the (old) school including the, then popular, maypole dances. In addition, the children all made great efforts to wear an inspiring fancy-dress costume. This young lady has elaborately decorated her bike (and probably herself). Even the spokes of the wheels are woven with crepe paper. Let’s hope she didn’t have to ride it!
