Here is a picture of one of Willingham’s petrol stations in about 1960. It was on Berrycroft roughly opposite the Pizza shop today. Petrol was also available from what is now Willingham Motors and, until about 15 years ago, from Foreman’s on George St. The car is a 1951 Sunbeam Talbot 90 owned by Dr. Flowers, the village doctor at that time who, according to Norman Ingle, was known as “Jim” by friends – the number plate is “JYM 835”.
