I remember making dens with bushel and half bushel apple boxes. On one occasion we made a den in a pile of 12lb chip baskets for plums. We were not popular when someone was sent to see how many baskets were left in stock and didn't realise the pile was hollow.
Flower boxes like this were still in use in the sixties. flowers were sent in them to the big cities, and empty boxes sent back. Sometimes there were interesting objects in the empties, old pairs of boots, gasmasks, once I remember an old worn out mans ...
Flower boxes like this were still in use in the sixties. flowers were sent in them to the big cities, and empty boxes sent back. Sometimes there were interesting objects in the empties, old pairs of boots, gasmasks, once I remember an old worn out mans suit. There was always a supply of boxes for use, and were just the right size to make dens and things out of. Not popular with the flower growers!
